Segura® Vacation Guide
This guide is designed to help you understand how vacation and paid time off work at our company.
Who is eligible?
All our company’s employees have the right to rest, whether they are CLT, interns, PJ, or other modalities.
- Vacation (CLT and Interns): Right to 30 days of rest after one year of work (vesting period).
- Paid Leave (PJ and International Contractors): Right to a period of paid leave, also after one year of service.
When can I take it?
The right is acquired after one year of work.
- Example:
- Hire Date: 05/01/2024
- Vesting Period: 05/01/2024 to 04/30/2025
- Period to take vacation/leave: 05/01/2025 to 04/01/2026.
- (CLT: The vacation period expires 1 month before the end of the concession period).
How to Request Your Vacation
- Access the Segura® Portal (ServiceNow).
- Submit your request at least 30 days in advance of the desired start date.
- The request must be made by the 10th of the previous month (e.g., to take vacation on December 15th, request by November 10th).
- Your direct manager must approve it.
- The People team will give final approval.
Basic Splitting Rules
- For CLT:
- You can take 30 consecutive days OR 20 consecutive days with 10 days paid (selling 10 days).
- You can split it into up to 3 periods (e.g., 15/15 days or 20/10 days), as long as one period is at least 14 calendar days and the others are no less than 5 days.
- Note: Selling 10 days (abono pecuniário) can only be requested if the vacation is taken within the concession period.
- For Interns:
- Can split the vacation into two 15-day periods.
- For PJ (Legal Entity):
- Right to 20 consecutive days of paid leave.
- Must be planned in agreement with the manager.
- For International Contractors (W2 and 1099):
- Check your country’s vacation policy or the terms of your contract.
General Restrictions:
- Avoid starting your vacation two days before a holiday.
- Avoid starting your vacation on a Friday.
What happens if I don’t take it on time?
- For CLT: If you do not take your vacation within the legal concession period, the company will pay you double.
